The York County Skating Club at Biddeford Ice Arena is offering Hockey Skills sessions for skaters wanting to improve their skills for a transition to hockey.  Sessions are Monday nights starting September 9th as follows:

Hockey 1: Lesson from 5:30-5:55pm followed by 25 minute free skate.  For any skater who has not gone through the Learn To Skate program, they will be evaluated in this class before moving to Hockey 2 as approved by the Coach.  Skaters must know how to skate.  Sessions focus on teaching correct form, how to gain more power by using edges, forward and backward skating along with turning quickly without losing speed.

Hockey 2: Lesson from 5:55-6:20pm followed by 25 minute free skate. This group works on crossovers, different stopping techniques, more quick turn techniques and more advanced backward skating.

A pre-requisite to either program is the skater needs to have passed the Tot 4 or Intro to Skating class before entering the Hockey Skills program.
