Congratulations to Biddeford's own Brian Dumouilin and the Pittsburgh Penguins on your Stanley Cup Victory! We are thrilled with your success, and look forward to watching you in the NHLfor many years to come!
BYHA is partnering with the Maine Wild to become BYHA Wild. This solidifies a partnership that began with the introduction of Tier III Youth Travel Hockey by the Maine Wild in the spring of 2015. Starting with the 2016-17 season, BYHA will drop the “Sharks” logo and adopt the “Wild” logo. This partnership provides youth hockey in Biddeford and surrounding communities with a unified path from Atoms to Juniors. Additionally, this partnership helps to alleviate the distinction between “house” and “travel” hockey; all youth players entering the Biddeford Ice Arena will be Wild – no matter what team she or he happens to play for.
BYHA will continue to provide non-profit Tier IV non-travel hockey to the new and novice hockey players in our community. The Maine Wild is a for-profit, travel hockey association which has established itself as the premiere provider of advanced play to the seasoned young athlete.
BYHA will continue to provide introductory programs at the 8 and under level as well as Tier IV “house” hockey at the Squirt through Midget age groups. Maine Wild will field advanced travel teams at the Tier II and Tier III level from Squirts through Midgets as well as their cornerstone Junior program.
The BYHA Board is excited to move forward with this partnership.
